Paulo Reis Reading Room

Carpe Diem Arte e Pesquisa opens to the public its collection of books with more than 2500 contemporary art and culture publications.

Many of these copies belonged to Paulo Reis (1960- 2011), one of the founders of CDAP, who honors our library with his name. Institutions, individual contributors and artists have generously donated others.

Many of these titles remain unpublished in Portugal, especially the artists’ publications who have only been known by the public through the exhibitions organized by CDAP. This collection also documents theory, critic and historical publications, photography, cultural heritage and architecture books, institutional and collector’s catalogues, national and international collective exhibition books, hundreds of artists’ monographic works and videos.
