A memória da memória
Daniel Blaufuks (Portugal)

The exhibition The Memory of the memory by Daniel Blaufuks includes two works about memory. The first is a film, Carpe Diem, on the memory of the space itself, a private place that today is public. The second, The Memory of Others, are photographs on the possible memory kept in private films. The two projects speak precisely of the impossibility of internally accessing the memory of another, suggesting that it is a sensorial and spatial experience, and transmitted principally through spoken, written, photographic and filmed records; or rather, through a memory of that memory (an evocation). Simultaneously these two works enhance the importance of the archives of memories like a transmitted element and an essential base for understanding.
