Born in 1981, the artist graduated in Painting from FBAUL in 2004. In 2006 she participated in the workshop Intervir na paisagem directed by the sculptor Alberto Carneiro at Oficinas do Convento, Montemor-o-Novo. From her solo exhibitions stand out Trabalho de

Campo (2013) at Next Room, Ocidente (2012), Jardim Botânico (2009) and Promised Land (2007) at Caroline Pagès Gallery in Lisbon, and from her collective exhibitions the participation at the Portuguese Pavillion, Hangar-7, Salzburg, Austria (2009) and Vestigio at Hospital Júlio de Matos (2008). She was selected for the Anteciparte prize in Lisbon (2006) and the Ariane de Rothschild´s Painting Prize also in Lisbon (2005). In 2011 Maria was invited to join Grupo RAR´s collection and llustrate the Relatório e Contas-2010 with her work. Her work is also included in Fundação PLMJ’s collection in Lisbon and other private collections in Portugal, France and Austria.
